Project Description

Higley served as Construction Manager at Risk for the new Tsai Dining and Athletic Center which will reposition student life for the school by bringing together recreation, wellness, athletics, and dining into one interconnected environment. The project building area is approximately 250,000 GSF and the impacted site area is approximately 1,001,300 SF (23 acres).

The scope of work includes both new buildings and the restoration of the historic Fieldhouse. New facilities include: an ice rink, basketball gym, swimming pool, and a fitness center. The gym is designed to double as a function space that will serve multiple school functions.

The new dining facility accommodates over 500 students, staff and faculty daily. The design includes a mezzanine dedicated to freshman as a way to create a sense of belonging for new students. The main floor is subdivided into modules designed to foster community. Building upon a well-established campus tradition, two new courtyards will promote links to the broader campus landscape and provide opportunities for outdoor programming. At a larger scale, the project included a new gateway and entry road for the campus, as well as new field and track facilities.
