Higley served as Construction Manager at Risk for the Conversion of the existing McKinley Grand Hotel to a DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Canton, Ohio as part of the Football Hall of Fame Village expansion.
The $17 Million project included extensive renovations to all guest rooms and suites, all public spaces, and all back-of-house areas. The project also includes exterior restoration of the precast concrete façade, replacement of existing roofs, replacement of all mechanical equipment and controls, modernization of all building elevators, and other infrastructure upgrades. The full-service hotel features 165 guest rooms & suites, a new bar and restaurant, 6,500 SF ballroom with 2,500 SF pre-function space, meeting rooms, and 2nd floor pool and fitness center.
Higley worked closely with the FF&E procurement manager to quantify, receive and install carpet, wall coverings, light fixtures, vanities, and other materials, as well as to schedule the final furniture sequence and turn over the guest floors.
