MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OHIO
Higley served as Construction Manager at Risk for the new Merici Crossing Motherhouse for the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland. This three-story, 65,000-square-foot motherhouse completed in December of 2018.
The new building, named Merici Crossings in honor of Ursuline founder St. Angela Merici, was built just south of the sisters’ existing 59-year-old, 250,000-square-foot motherhouse. The new building accommodates 70 residents and will serve to support Ursuline life and ministry today, but also to create a building that is adaptable for the future.
The residence includes two- and three-bedroom apartments, plus a chapel and common dining and living areas. When no longer need by the Ursulines, the building can be converted to independent apartments to be used by other religious sisters or their friends.
