PHASE 1: Higley served as Construction Manager at Risk on the new St. Martin de Porres High School, adjacent to the existing high school. The project scope involved abatement, partial demolition, and historic preservation of an existing, historic building that the new school ties into. The 3-story school is a state-of-the-art facility that enhances interdisciplinary project-based learning communities. The school was designed to ensure that students are fully prepared for what they will experience in
college and eventual workplaces.
PHASE 2: Subsequently, Higley also served as Construction Manager at Risk on the new St. Martin de Porres High School, Phase 2 Addition. The project scope involved partial demolition, and the construction of the new 3-story, 30,000 SF addition. The additional classroom space is similar to the HS including open floor plans and collaboration spaces. The main floor included additional offices, a computer lab, some religious space (called the Oratory), and a wellness center for students. The final sitework included exterior learning spaces, a rain garden, permeable pavers, and a memorial wall.
